My Husband was watching the Jack Russell Trials on Television. When the dogs were let loose to race all three of mine perked up on the couch and started watching. One even stood up excited as if he was to join in the fun. I guess we will have to get busy and see about taking them sometime.
Last Night we watched Shutter Island. Jackie O and Blackjack went on to bed in the back of the house but Mr Lucky stayed up with us and watched the movie. He could not get comfortable and seemed to be scared even hid his face and shook at times. I was reminded of a book I recently read called The Art of Racing in the Rain. The book is an easy read and sort of heart wrenching. It is narrated by the main character’s dog and it really makes you think more about your dog and what he might be thinking. I know my dogs think— they figure everything out and I know about it through their expressions. These Jack Russells are the most sensitive and observant dogs I have ever had—always anticipating your every move. It is an interesting and challenging relationship. I must say that other breeds that I have had made better pets but these guys run the showv or at least they run my show.
Three Jacks at the Beach

My female jack russell amazes me. She has a very delicate stomach and once in a while she will sneak and gorge on her two brothers food. She does it obsessively and if you are not watching and you don’t stop it you will be in trouble later. Over the last year she has figured out from one experience that the best place to be sick is in the bathtub. She will come and wake you up and then walk into the bathroom and stand by the bathtub. She looks at you with a special expression-very worried-and then she looks at the bathtub and waits to be put in. About a minute later it all comes up.
